ACROSS THE BRIDGE by Anatoly Dimarov

ACROSS THE BRIDGE is a collection of stories by a Ukrainian, Anatoly Dimarov.

Although he is well published in the USSR, it is believed this is his first English translation. He is still living in Kyiv, but that does not make his writing any less interesting to Australian readers.

The stories are vivid expressions of life in his homeland, from the escapades of childhood to the pain of a mother making a forbidden visit to her son in a prison camp.

Translated by Yuri Tkacz, they are easily read yarns that point without drama to the fact that people everywhere are human.
